	Other Names: Pari, Putangitangi. Size: 63cm Females are chestnut with a dark grey back and white head and neck. Males are mainly black with some chestnut brown under tail. Originally restricted to the lower South Island they have spread northwards slowly and reached Auckland in the 1980s.
	The females have a distictive white head.
